I posted this review on Goodreads a while ago and actually got a private message back from the author Lacey Silks saying how much she liked it. This absolutely blew me away. I was so honoured that she took the time to write to me. What a happy feeling in my tummy. I as a new reveiwer and blogger always wonder if anyone actually reads what I have written so I felt kind of good to see that I was being read and appreciated. So this post today is to share that book with you guys. If you have not read it yet, I truly suggest that you do. Of course I would start with the first part of the series "Layers Deep"

Layers Peeled

Lacey Silks

I was gifted this story in exchange for an honest review by NetGalley.

This is the second part in the Layers Trilogy. When I saw that, I immediately bought the first book, I needed to have the background before getting involved. This is a must for this series. I would have been lost without doing so first. Not to mention the cliffhanger ending of the first story.

As we start Layers Peeled, Allie Green is trying to break the news to her "boyfriend" Tristan Cross that they are pregnant. She works for him at this company Cross Enterprises and the last words of Layers Deep were " You're fired."

Well of course, she was only getting fired so that he could offer her a new job. Hmmf. That was kind of mean. Thankfully for her he is estatic about the pregnancy news. Now Allie has had quite the traumatic childhood, after watching her mother get raped she is carrying alot of issues around with her. Allie loves her mother deeply and has always tried to keep her safe, moving her from home to home. Tristan now takes some of that pressure away from her and she loves him all the more for doing that. Her new job is trying to rescue girls that have disappeared or been stolen. It breaks her heart to help this girls and with her police training it is the perfect job for her. Of course she does not idley sit at her desk and she manages to get into one scrape after another. The suspense, mystery and intrigue had me biting my finger nails off. Very well written.

Tristan was hot hot hot in the Layers Deep and I am happy to say that nothing has changed with that. They have wild passionate sex everywhere and anywhere. Outside in the snow, against the kitchen counter or hiding in a supply closet. These two love birds have a very healthy sex life.

Tristan's sister Emma is just a hoot, she blackmails Allie into letting her name the baby and the names that she keeps coming up with are hilarious. She added a great depth to the story. I loved her. Both his parents and her mother were also very well done and played a big part in the story.

The author did a great job putting so many different twists in the story, the mystery, the suspense, the romance and just the love of the family were all significant parts.

I really enjoyed reading both books. I would recommend them to everyone and would rate them 5/5.
