In honour of the upcoming release date of Helena Huntings's new book Clipped Wings on March 4, 2014 I am going to host my first contest. Yep, that is right I am venturing into new and unknown territory. I am hosting a contest. I am certainly very excited to being doing this. For a few reasons. First of all I have read all three of these stories and I found them amazing. A true love story but with a great deal of depth to the characters. They were quirky in their own right and I found that very refreshing. The sex of course was great but the stories were so much more than just a quick jump in the sack. Helena is a fellow Canadain , so I love that about her too.
ANYWAY, I digress, simply comment on this post to enter. The PRIZE is a copy of CLIPPED WINGS and I will be drawing for this awesome story on March 10, 2014
GOOD LUCK!!
Happy Reading.

Today was my very first attempt at a book blitz,
Thank you Morgan for allowing me to participate in this blitz for Unraveled. A new story by Jen Frederick. It took me a couple of tries with saving and cut and paste and a couple of false starts before I believe that I got it all up and functional. It is true that the first time is the hardest so I hope that next time I can go faster. I hope to do many many more of these in the future. I encourage, okay I plead, beg and cry for all my friends to check it out. Leave a comment and of course read this story. I will follow up with my review on March 1, 2014.

Summary

Twenty-five-year-old Sgt. Gray Phillips is at a crossroads in his life: stay in the Marine Corps or get out and learn to be a civilian? He’s got forty-five days of leave to make up his mind but the people in his life aren’t making the decision any easier. His dad wants him to get out; his grandfather wants him to stay in. And his growing feelings for Sam Anderson are wreaking havoc with his heart…and his mind. He believes relationships get ruined when a Marine goes on deployment. So now he’s got an even harder decision to make: take a chance on Sam or leave love behind and give his all to the Marines.

Twenty-two year old Samantha Anderson lost her husband to an IED in Afghanistan just two months after their vows. Two years later, Sam is full of regrets—that she didn’t move with her husband to Alaska; that she allowed her friends to drift away; that she hasn’t taken many chances in life. Now, she’s met Gray and taking a risk on this Marine could be her one opportunity to feel alive and in love again. But how can she risk her heart on another military man who could share the same tragic fate as her husband?

Excerpt

THIS WAS ONLY TEMPORARY, I reminded myself, as Samantha so sweetly kissed me back. I'm only here for a short time I reminded myself but as I felt her tongue stroke the side of my tongue, as she nipped her teeth against my lip, I wanted to just drown in the sensation. Her scent filled my head and the air around us shrank until all I knew was her small body sitting so close to mine. I moved my hand from her shoulder to cup her neck and angled her face for deeper penetration. I licked every inch inside of her mouth until the taste of her was all that I knew on my tongue.
And all that time I stared in to her green eyes and not once did she look like she was anywhere but right here with me. I saw my reflection there. Her heartbeat was made wild by my kisses.
And temporary was the farthest thing from my mind.

Dial M for Menage
February 23, 2014
Here is a nice sizzling menage for all you menage readers out there. I goes beyound just sex. Talks about feelings and decisions into the relationship and how communication is so very important. I enjoyed it.

Dial M for Menage

Emily Ryan-Davis

I was gifted this story in exchange for an honest review.

This is the continuation of the love story first introduced in Menage on 34th Street. Unfortunately I had not read that story so there was a little catching up to do. When I realized that they had a prior relationship it was not hard to pick up where this one started.

The heart of this story is about making a menage relationship work. It delves into the different aspects of various relationships. Male and female and male on male. In the second there was a little bit of a struggle to see which male, if any would always be dominant and there was some sole searching between the two of them to find the right answer.

Hunter belongs to the Marines and is worried how his constant moving around from post to post will affect this relationship. Liam and Katrina are married, they have a house together, so Hunter sometimes feels like a third wheel. These are choices that he needs to sort through?

What about children? Who gets to father them? Should they bring children into this type of relationship? These are questiong that all need to be discussed. These three adults need to find out what is the most important for them. And this starts of course, with honesty.

I thought that this was a realistic portrayal of some of the conflicts a menage relationship would encounter. The sex in the book was hot, but it wasn't the main focus of the story- the relationship between the three of them was. It was really amazing to watch the power struggles as everyone tries to do what is best, or what they think is best.

This story was not what I was expecting going in. But I found myself drawn into the story of their lives. Edging them along to make what I considered the right choices for them. Shhh, I am just like Liam. Definately worth a read to see what happens. I do suggest buying the first book. It will make things a little easier. I would rate this story 3.4/5.

This is a definate love story.
It was a new author for me and I really enjoyed it.

Best Kind of Broken

Chelsea Fine

This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.

We have all read tons of stories lately about the broken guy or the broken girl. They are getting to be a little hackneyed, it was time for a fresh perspective.

Yes Sarah (Pixie) and Levi are both grieving but this author only gives up bits and pieces of the backgound to us at a time. We are left with the smoking hot chemistry between them to occupy us in the meantime.

Aunt Ellen runs the Willow Inn a small local Inn and has offerred both Pixie and Levi summer jobs unbeknownst to each other. SURPRISE! Holy friction. Levi takes forty minute showers in the morning to use all the hot water. Meanie, Pixie plugs in too many electrical appliances to blow fuses. That girl has spunk.

Too bad that her boyfriend Matt does not make her skin tingle the way that Levi does, huh, where did that thought come from? Levi punches a hole in the drywall when something Pixie does upsets him. It is okay, he is the handyman, he will fix it.

These two have been friends since she was six and stole his toy transformers so that they could protect her dolls. He dies his hair in middle school to take attention away from her after her mean mother chops all her hair off. They have be best friends forever. Until the unspeakable happened. They are now walking on egg shells and avoiding addressing the issue.

I really enjoying reading this story. I am NOT going to give away anymore of the story line just enough to tempt you. The secondary characters are a hoot. His best friend is babysitting a goat for the summer. Her best friend tries to get her to go out and live life, to open up and share. Aunt Ellen constantly pushes them and is there for them. And the resident goof ball Daren, well he is hilarious.

I thought these two characters showed a lot of spunk. The antics that they come up with are funny. She has so very much strenght of character, but her sadness comes through in her black/white and grey paintings. I am hoping for a happy ending for the two of them. I would rate this story 4/5.

Inked Armor

Inked Armor (Clipped Wings, #2)
This book is the third in the new series by Helena Hunting a fellow Canadian. The first one is out right now,
the second one Clipped Wings releases on March 4 and this one does not come out until May 13. BUT, I seriously recommend that you mark thses dates down on your calender so that you do not forget to get them. They are definately worth the read. I devoured all three of them.

Inked Armor

Helena Hunting

This story was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third part in this series. The first one was Cupcakes and Ink where the characters Hayden and Tenley are introduced. The second is Clipped Wings where they fall in love and leaves us with a cliffhanging ending that has Tenley going home with the evil brother in law Trey to settle Connor's estate.

These two stories were very powerful and touched places way down inside. I eagerly hounded the author until I got my hands on this one too.

Tenley spends a horrible month back in Arden Hills fighting with Trey and trying to do the right thing by Connor. She misses Hayden dreadfully. She thinks about him all the time, debates calling him constantly but wants to go back to him with a clean slate. Trey plays some dirty pool, he has some nasty tricks up his sleeve and it takes longer that she thinks.

Hayden is devasted that Tenley has left. She does not answer the phone. She does not respond to his messages or texts and when he goes down there to see her in person Trey sent him away. He thinks that she has left him for good and is never coming back.He is not sure how he can go on. Hayden is not eating, he is loosing weight, he has not gotten a hair cut and he barely remembers to go to work or even to shower. All he thinks about is Tenley and how much his heart is broken. That she has left him just like his parents did. His friends are worried that he will spiral downwards again.

When Tenley does return to Chicago it is to a very changed man. Their need for one another is bordering on unhealthy, they consume one another. They are together all the time, every night as they try to work things out. They devour each other both mentally and physically. It is almost like the two broken halves finally come together to make a whole.Things in Hayden's past concerning his less than desirable actions are haunting him during the day and his dreams of his parent's murder are haunting him during the night. He needs to explain things that he has done and who he has done them with to Tenley so that she understands and does not think badly of him and leave again.

Will these two wounded souls, who have shared such devasting losses in their time be able to help each other heal? Will they ever be closure to the murders? Will getting her tattoo help Tenley to get over her loss?

In order to answer some of these questions and just to learn more about these two amazing characters I definately think you should read this story. It had an enormous amout of depth for all the characters. There are a few twists and turns along the way that really caught me off guard. I was amazed at how strong Tenley is. There love for each other was so very evident in every page. The ending answers so many questions.

I would rate this story 5/5.

Would love to read more by this author!!

This is the second part to this quirky new series. The release date is March 10, 2014. Make sure to mark it on your calender. They are a must read.

Clipped Wings

Helena Hunting

I must confess that I did read
Cupcakes and Ice first so that I would get a feel for these characters. I was definately hooked after that story. It gives you just enough information to leave you hanging and wanting to continue to see what happens with these characters.

Tenley is renting an apartment above Aunt Cassie's antique story called Serendipity. She is also working there part time. Not because she has to, she has a healthy bank account because of the tragedy she suffered but simply to fill in time. She is also pursuing her Masters degree at Northwestern University.

She is healing and keeps mostly to herself. However, she does allow herself the pleasure of watching Hayden the tattoo artist the lives and works across the street. The nephew of Cassie. He is hot and sends shivers down her spine. He also keeps coming in the shop to talk to her.

Tenley and Hayden finally strike up a conversation. He gives her a tattoo, a baby cupcake as she is so fond of baking them. The explore their relationship but Hayden does not sleep with customers. She comes up with a solution and they agree to only sleep with one another until he does her big tattoo, that way she is not technically a customer yet.

Tenley has been through a horrible tragedy and she is trying so hard to put her life back on track. This however is proving difficult as her brother in law Trey is harrassing her regarding the estate and her University adviser is giving her a hard time with her thesis.

She has nightmares, he comforts her, He has demons, she comforts him. Together they are trying to heal one another. Her wounds are fresh, his are years old revolving around the death of his parents in his teenage years and his downward spiral afterwards.

This novel was powerful. It sucks you in so that you turn page after page to immerse yourself in their lives. It unveils emotion after emotion as we watch these two try to live a somewhat normal life. The secondary characters play a large role in the story, his aunt and uncle helped him so much after his parents murder. His business partners are a large part of who he is now. And his old associates come back to cause trouble for him. In her life Trey is a force to be reckoned with and will certainly cause some huge hurdles.

To be forewarned there is a nasty cliffhanger (as all cliffhangers are nasting) ending in this story which only made me determined to read book #3. I would rate this story a solid 5/5.

I love trying new authors. I think that is the fun of reading, to discover new things, both authors and adventures. I saw this new series and knew that I needed to read it. I did not know at the time that there were three books, I thought only two, but hey, the more the better. I love being able to get my teeth into a story and really learn about the characters in depth. I think it is great to see characters grow through more that one story. I find I become attatched to all the charcters both main and secondary. It was also a nice surprise to see that she is a fellow Canadian. Welcome to my blog Helena.

Cupcakes and Ink

Helen Hunting

Tenley Page has moved to a new town to continue her schooling and is looking for a fresh start. She has settled into a new apartment and is slowing by secondhand furniture to furnish it. She also gets a part time job at the second hand store beneath her apartment. Serendipity. She spends her free time watching the tattoo parlour across the street. In particular watching the artist that works there.

Hayden Stryker has alot going for him. He is working a job he loves with people he likes and is happy with his life. Then a distraction. Above the shop that his Aunt Cassie owns a new girl has moved in and he finds himself attracted to her. He goes over almost daily to look at her and keeps hoping for a chance to talk to her.

This is the prequel to "Clipped Wings" by this author. This is the introduction of these characters. And what an introduction is was. She just gives us the bare minimum. Just enough to wet our appetite and leave us wanting more. And we do, we want more of these two. The attraction is there. The urge to explore this attraction is overpowering.

I really enjoyed this sneak preview into these new lives and will be anxiously awaiting the release of the next part. I would rate this a 5/5.

When I first posted the reviews to Opal Carew's books I managed to garner the attention of Rose, her editor and it was to my great surprise when I got and e-mail from her this week asking me to review this new story "Breathe Into Me" by Sara Fawkes. I think that this is just the most awesomeness pat of the back. I am taking baby steps in getting myself known in the world of so many reviewers out there and these are my first steps. I love the feeling and knowledge that someone out there is reading and appreciating what I do. I read and appreciate what they do, so that is only fair
I found this story to be totally captivating from the first page. Lacey has unbelievable strength of character and I am seriously wanting my 18 year old daughter to read this story. She would enjoy it very much.
Rose, this one is for you.

Breathe Into Me

Sara Fawkes

This book was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.

Lacey St. James is living in a run down trailer with her Mom, Grandma and little 4 year old brother Davy. They have been there since her step-dad died and Grandma offered to take them in. It is a horrible situation that has Mom drinking to extremes and Grandma being verbally abusive as well as slapping Lacey around. Her mental escape from this it to meet up with local bad boy Macon. He likes his sex dirty and a little rough. It is a regular occurance for her to have to hide bruises that he gives her. He sickens her and makes her afraid of him but she thinks she is better off with him than at home.

One night at a local bar Macon goes too far, he offers to share her with his friends. This is too much for Lacey. She is terrified and fights back. After getting away from a possibley dangerous situation she is determined to stay far away from Macon.

Everett is at the bar that night and befriends her after the attack. They strike up a conversation. And begin to see each other around town. He helps her study for her GED test. Working at the local grocery store gets tougher after Macon makes and scene and when Grandma kicks her out of the trailer Everett offers her a room in the mansion's deck house that he is spending the summer in. They become great friends and spend alot of time together.

Lacey is trying to get her life back on track, but with no where to live and no full time job it is hard and she is frustrated. She finally gets some help from the bartender Cherise and fellow grocery clerk Claire.

This story was certainly a journey for this young girl. It was almost heart breaking to read. Such a gamut of emotions. She is always having one set back after another. I wonder if she will ever get her HEA. There are some sweet spots to the story that will give you back hope. Everett arranges for her to get her truck fixed and then they go mud riding to christian it. When the two of them finally make it between the sheets he has the room all decked out in candles wanting to make her "new first time" something to remember forever.

But alas, Mr Everett has some of his own demons haunting him and only once he can make peace with himself and his family will it be possible for these two to have any sort of future together.

I thought the author did a great job of putting some many horrible events and situations together into an amazing story. It was truly a beautiful thing to see when the pieces of her puzzle start forming what could be her life. Something possible peaceful and beautiful.

I would rate this story 5/5. It was well done. It makes you look at your own life and truly be thankful for what you have. To value the mistakes that you have made because they have made you into the what you are today.

Well the days of winter are passing us by, Hoorah! soon we will be moving into warmer weather. I booked a Caribbean Cruise the end of April. Countdown commences. Yesterday I got an e-mail from Blue Kincaid author of Five Weeks in December saying that she had read my review on Net Galley and liked it. Because of this she wanted to know if I would go on a list to get automatic ARC 's of her new books. HELL YES!!!! Being new in reviewing and blogging it is stuff like this that just blows my mind and makes me feel good inside.
Blue Kincaid - this one is for you!

Five Weeks in December

Twisted and Tied Book 1

Blue Kincaid

I received this story in exchange for an honest review from Net Galley.

Harry Everett is a Dom without a sub. His last sub, his fiancee had died two ago on her way to meet her lover. Harry obviously has not been the same since. He has not been able to top anyone since then. His friends are worried about him and suggested a professional submissive to help him out.

December is this person. She is to be his submissive for five weeks. She is to help him to regain his dominant nature. She is sweet, loving and soft. She terrifies him.

This story was not your typical dom/sub story, I found it to be deeper emotionally. It was not simply about the sex or the act of BDSM but rather about two people getting to know one another. I loved how she was always running through the house in her bare feet. It made it seems so much more real to me.

The sex scenes were beautifully done, I felt very honored to be reading them , almost trespassing on something beautiful. There was straight sex, voyueristic sex, and lots and lots of toys. He really treated her as if she was a treasure. He cares about her feelings and fulfilling her needs. They do everyday things together and they just seem so perfect.

Well, we know that there has to be some bumps along the way and this story is no different. Harry is still hurting from his past relationship and December must come to grips with the reasons that she bounces around in her live. Why does she prefer to keep bouncing from job to job. She has some secrets to tell. This story was very well done and I loved the way the focus of the story was on the development of the two main characters and not just simply sex after sex scene. Now don't get me wrong, there were sex scenes and they were hot stuff. I really thought the secondary characters were well done. His friends were awesome and her family was definately a hoot.

I would recommend this story to all romance readers and would rate it 4/5.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! As usual I sat down to read for an hour or so last night before Saving Hope came on TV, I decided to try a new author. A story that I had gotten from Net Galley that seemed kind of interesting . Indulging in Irelyn. A story of a football player six years after his injury as he finds the girl that has haunted his dreams. His angel he calls her. I was expecting a simple love story but it was, WOW, so much more. Seems she has a boyfriend that does not want to let go of her. He is simply evil. It was a great read. I can't wait for the next installment. I hate cliffhangers, I hate serial stories. I love them all!!!

Indulging in Irelyn

D.L. Raver

This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.

Zolt, even the name is hot. It makes me think of sexiness. This character certainly lives up to his name. He has a reputation for only sleeping with a women once, not really taking the time to get a name and for the most part shies away from any kissing. Quite the playboy. He used to be a star NFL player until a nasty dirty hit wrecked his leg and destroyer his career.

Irelyn was in the stands that day, she saw the hit go down and rushed to the field to offer confort. Their gazes lock and her image stays with him for years. He considers her an angel that he has dreamed up.

Six years later the two of them met, both working for her father in his law office. The attraction between the two of them is instantanious and serioulsy off the charts. He thinks he angel has come to life and he has always been her hero.

But, alas, there is a slight problem. The boyfriend Marcus Xavier and this man is seriously a bad bad dude. He has his hands in all sorts of illegal activities. He tells Irelyn when she breaks it off with him that she will always belong to him. He treats her like a possession and has secretly collared her. She is frightened of him and leans to Zolt for comfort.

This book packed one hell of a literary punch. It has ALL the elements of a great story. The romance was sweet and it was easy to love them, the bad boy persona fits him to a T and he uses this to awaken the dormant sexuality in Irelyn. He makes her become a woman and she loves it, she loves him, she always has. Zolt has friends in high places and this adds to the drama and mystery in the plot. Marcus is controlling and evil. Just when we think that he has given up..... bam! something horrible happens. I was so totally unprepared. I loved it. I eagerly turned the pages to discover the ins and outs to this story. I truly enjoyed this book. Imagine my surprise when it turns out to be a CLIFFHANGER!!! I hate waiting,

I rate this story 5/5 and can't wait for the sequel.

I read this story last week and found the story line to be refreshing and fast pace. A true joy to read. Kept me interested and entertained for the entire novel. I truly think that is the end result that an author should be heading towards. Entertainment. Good job for a debut novel by Tracey Livesay.

The Tycoon's Socialite Wife

Tracey Livesay

I was gifted this story in exchange for an honest review.

Marcus Peterson is enjoying a game of golf with his buddy Carter Richardson when he is approached by a woman wanting to talk to him about saving a building and he is annoyed to have his day interrupted. He thinks she is just another girl looking for a donation, trying to cash in on his wealth. How wrong was he. He has worked hard for many years to achieve the financial security that he now possesses.

Pamela Harrington is that woman. She is the daughter of the Senator and is crusading to save the G Street Women's Shelter, a building that houses battered women with nowhere else to go. This is the newest acquisition of real estate for Marcus and he plans to tear it down and build some high price condos.

It does not take Marcus long to figure out that Pamela is the IN that he is looking for. Seems that even though he is one of the richest and most powerful men in the State, Mr Holcombe will not look at his offer to buy his hotel because he is not "old money." Marcus desperately wants to possess this hotel to right a wrong done to his mother. Pamela is the answer because she comes from "old money." Marcus believes that an arranged marriage between the two of them will alllow him access to the hotel he craves and in turn he will let the battered women stay at the shelter.

Of course this marriage of convienence does not go off without a hitch as reality sinks in.These are two strangers that are planning a future together. They have completely different personalities. There are problems after problems that occur because of the secrets they are playing. Her father plays a pivotal role in the story as he opposes this marriage from the beginning.

Marcus and Pamela started out on the wrong foot with each other but throughout the story they start to learn more about the other. It is good to see them begin to tolerate each other and then watch as it actually grows to mutual affection. Of course there are more bumps for this couple and some scenes that totally caught me off guard. Some really good bumps. I even shed a few tears. It was really well written. It was a great story as their personalities were explored and developed. Marcus really has some endearing qualities and when push comes to shove he is a good guy. Pamela has some violence in her personal background and it was great to see how someone with her background could turn her life around and embrace the idea of giving back and helping others. Truly made her a great person.

I found the story line very believable and the struggles that they faced and how they dealt with them were very well written about. I would rate this story a 5/5.

I posted this review on Goodreads a while ago and actually got a private message back from the author Lacey Silks saying how much she liked it. This absolutely blew me away. I was so honoured that she took the time to write to me. What a happy feeling in my tummy. I as a new reveiwer and blogger always wonder if anyone actually reads what I have written so I felt kind of good to see that I was being read and appreciated. So this post today is to share that book with you guys. If you have not read it yet, I truly suggest that you do. Of course I would start with the first part of the series "Layers Deep"

Layers Peeled

Lacey Silks

I was gifted this story in exchange for an honest review by NetGalley.

This is the second part in the Layers Trilogy. When I saw that, I immediately bought the first book, I needed to have the background before getting involved. This is a must for this series. I would have been lost without doing so first. Not to mention the cliffhanger ending of the first story.

As we start Layers Peeled, Allie Green is trying to break the news to her "boyfriend" Tristan Cross that they are pregnant. She works for him at this company Cross Enterprises and the last words of Layers Deep were " You're fired."

Well of course, she was only getting fired so that he could offer her a new job. Hmmf. That was kind of mean. Thankfully for her he is estatic about the pregnancy news. Now Allie has had quite the traumatic childhood, after watching her mother get raped she is carrying alot of issues around with her. Allie loves her mother deeply and has always tried to keep her safe, moving her from home to home. Tristan now takes some of that pressure away from her and she loves him all the more for doing that. Her new job is trying to rescue girls that have disappeared or been stolen. It breaks her heart to help this girls and with her police training it is the perfect job for her. Of course she does not idley sit at her desk and she manages to get into one scrape after another. The suspense, mystery and intrigue had me biting my finger nails off. Very well written.

Tristan was hot hot hot in the Layers Deep and I am happy to say that nothing has changed with that. They have wild passionate sex everywhere and anywhere. Outside in the snow, against the kitchen counter or hiding in a supply closet. These two love birds have a very healthy sex life.

Tristan's sister Emma is just a hoot, she blackmails Allie into letting her name the baby and the names that she keeps coming up with are hilarious. She added a great depth to the story. I loved her. Both his parents and her mother were also very well done and played a big part in the story.

The author did a great job putting so many different twists in the story, the mystery, the suspense, the romance and just the love of the family were all significant parts.

I really enjoyed reading both books. I would recommend them to everyone and would rate them 5/5.

I just realized that Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Wow, I swear it was just Christmas, time passes us by so quickly. I am going to post the last installment of Opal Carew's great series and then I will pick some more great romantic stories to share with you. Being close to Valentine's Day is the perfect time to read a great romance story, not that we need an excuse, every day is a great day to read a book! What a great way to pass a few hours, even if we have to look outside at all the white snow. And believe you me, there is plenty of snow to look at outside my window. But, this morning I have been searching for vacation spots, I think I see the need for some warm weather and sand in my future. Complete with a weeks supply of novels of course.
Hope you enjoy.

His to Possess #6

Forever

This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest reiew.

At the end of Book 5 was the question that ALL women wait their whole lies to hear " would you like to have sex with us together." This must be the number on fantasy of all times. Not only does Jessica have both of the hot and sexy Ranier brothers wanting her, but now they are planning on taking her together. To make her number one fantasy come to light.

What a night it was. Dane is all masculine and dominant and controls the entire situation. In typical menage situations they were all so very satisified, they were all so very much at one time or another the prime focus of the attention, or sometimes she was the centre of attention for both of them. Wholy hotness. She falls asleep a very content girl.

However, come the light of day, comes the necessity to face the truth. It is time to determine the rest of her life. She needs to listen to her head. She needs to listen to her heart and think about what is the right thing to do. She wants Dane, she wants Rafe, they are both so irresistable and pulling at her heartstrings for oh so many different reasons.

Now it would be so cruel of me to give away anymore details, no matter how much you, the reader is wanting to know what happens. Believe you mean, I thought I had it figured out at this point, but in true Opal Carew style she is not quite finished with the twists and turns that this story is on. There is still lots of drama to come about. Some more spankings, some tense agruements and lots and lots of hot sex. All the best things. This story is wrapped up niceley and all loose ends are taken care of. Unfortunately you are going to have to read this story first. Excellent job by this very talented writer. 5/5!!

Hello, as well as trying to get this blog up and running I am also reading for NetGalley, We Love Kink and Shayna's Sexy Reads. That is alot of reading. No need for TV watching, my books are my life right now. I find that it relaxes me to sit on the couch with a good book and a snack at night. I find myself looking forward to the peace and quiet of the time just for me. I think that with all the stressors in our lives during the day a little bit of me time at night is justly deserved.
Here is number 5 in the Opal Carew series, I will either post the final later tonight or tomorrow. And then I have a whole list of books for you all, might have to put the titles in a hat to help me choose.
Thanks for sharing my ramblings with me.

Entangled

This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.

This story just keeps getting hotter and hotter, the twists and the turns, I just am not seeing them coming. After leaving Dane in Chicago, she is deeply tormented as she thought things had changed with him. She thought they had connected, instead he sent her away.

Rafe picks her up at the airport and drives to his apartment. Where he has a very serious question for her. "Will you marry me? I will be either Rafe or Storm, I"ll be happ if you're by my side."

Whoa, knock me over, shock, shock, shock. Thankfully Jessica is level headed and turns him down. He has only been back in town for a short while and she has feeling for Dane. However, a comforting hug turns to a short kiss, to a caress of the breast and so on and so forth. Soon the two of them are reconnecting in all ways physical and spending the night together.

At one time in the book we had these lines.

Dane" Are you in love with Rafe?"

Rafe " What are your feelings for my brother"

I mean what is a girl to do.There is way too much testosterone in the room here. Yes it is yummy stuff, sure to result in some hot and steamy love making, but feelings are getting involved, feelings are being stirred up again. She wants.... she wants... she is not sure. She has feelings for both of them and does not know what to do.

This story is getting hotter and hotter. I was so jealous of this girl getting all that hot loving from those two men. They are capable of definately scorching up the sheets. Loving everything here. I am only sad that there is just one more installment to go.

In typical Opal fashion this one has a doozy of a final page. So much so that I had to read the next installment before I wrote this review. Do as I did read that one too.

Saturday 8 February 2014

Here is the next installment in the awesome series by Opal Carew. It is now Saturday night and the men are getting ready to watch the hockey game. Toronto Maple Leafs versus Vancouver Canucks. Should be an intersting game. And during the intermissions the Olympics are on. I don't know about you but I love watching the Olympics. I get goose bumps whenever Canada gets a medal. During the Winter games Ice Skating, all types and Curling are my favs.
Enjoy your Saturday in whatever it is that you are doing.

True Lies

This book was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.

We left the end of book #3, with Jessica realizing that Dane's brother Rafe and her ex-boyfriend Storm are one and the same. Things are going to get awkward now for sure. To make things even more interesting lets not forget that Melanie (the roomate) is in love with the absent brother.

Rafe confides in Dane that he loves Jessica and then tell Melanie he has come for Jessica too. But alas, he is leaving town, going to Chicago on business with Dane.

Dane is giving her space, allowing her to get her thoughts together but nope, Jessica seduces him, she wants him right now. After some bare ass spanking for leading him on they share a hot night of passion, they make love, they make deep and poignant love. They wear their hearts out on their sleeves. She is sure that he feels the same way she does......... right?

Nope. He shoots that down pretty fast, reminds her of who made the original rules to the game, only sex, hot kinky and wild mabe, but only sex.

Oh my goodness, do I want her with Dane, back with Storm? with the new and improved Rafe. I don't know. I love the kinky sex that Dane offers,he really knows how to treat a girl, I mean Rafe/Storm left her with out a second thought, he is scum ... right? But he is back. She is confused. I am confused. I think Opal is the only one that is not confused. She has the masterplan. I must read on to book #5 to get some more answers, as well, I am sure as some more questions.

Today marks post number three of the Opal Carew Series. I loved this series as I read it. I have always liked this author. I think that she can write a mean story. Her sex scenes are just awesome. Her main men are tall, dark, handsome and oh so very sexy. Hope you join me tomorrow as I continue posting these installments.
His to Possess #3, Perfect Storm

Opal Carew

This book was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.

Jessica is content to be working for Dane. It was a little bit of a rocky beginning after mistaking him for an exboyfriend Storm and the surprise of finding out he was her new boss. They tried to keep their hands off one another but it was impossible, the sexual attraction was too great. So the new deal now is simply sex. And oh my, there is alot of that. She is told to only wear garters, stockings and a thong at all times so that it would make access to her so much easier. He flirts with her, he teases her, he gets her worked up constantly. He takes her constantly in the office, whenever he wants, however he wants. Hot hot sex. I am telling you Miss Opal Carew can certainly write a riveting sex scene.

Besides the hot sex, these two are getting closer, they are talking, they are becoming friends. They are attending functions together and multiple meetings, they have had lunch dates and indepth family discussions.

You would think that now the story is just going to be about the two of them right? NOPE, seem that the exboyfriend Storm is missing her, he wants her back and has managed to get her location from Mom and Dad and he is coming out to see her. There is the making for some heavy duty stress here and then.... BAM! another cliffhanging ending. This time I need to wait a week for the next installment!!! I don't know if my tender heart can take the stress.

Today will be my second post. I am really enjoying this. Need to get me some followers though. Today's post will be an inspirational quote and part two of the Opal Carew series. I am going to post one part a day and then go on to different books that I am reading in anticipation. I also signed up for my first blog tour today. Kind of nervous about that but excited too.
Thanks for stopping by.

His To Possess #2, The Morning After

This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second in a six part series. In the first part we met Jessica who after thinking she sees her ex-friend at a coffee shop meets up with Dane. He pulls some strings to offer her a job. She does not realize he is behind the job offer until she moves to another city to start her job. Imagine the shock of walking in to meet your new boss who is the one who you share a hot and kinky one night stand one. The one who you snuck out on in the middle of the night, seriously what are the chances?

Jessica realizes that she needs to keep this new relationship stricly professional. He is the boss and she desperately needs her new job. It just doesn't help that he is so hot to look at and makes her heart flutter and her body overheat.

Things are getting kind of hot and heavy with all the knowing glances being exchanged. Is it possible to stay away from him? Can she hide her feelings? Does she want to?

I just ate up this story. I devoured it. I absolutely loved it. I was reading along getting right into things, understanding where the story was going and then WHAM! Cliff hanger ending again. Can't wait for number three.

Wednesday 5 February 2014

I debated long and hard about what book or books to start off with. I wanted something that had a punch. That I thought was a good read. I finally decided on Opal Carew's new 6 part series " His to Possess" Here is book #1 titled "The Seduction" I hope that you enjoy them as much as I did, and I have to warn you EACH of these installments have their own cliffhanging ending. Lucky for all of you reading them now that you can get all six of them. I hope that you all felt pity for me as I was reading them over the Christmas Holidays and I actually had to wait.
Thanks for keeping me company.

His to Possess #1 The Seduction

Opal Carew

This book was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.

This is the newest six part mini series by Opal Carew. I love all her books and this one did not disappoint. I knew going in that because this was the first book it would leave many questions unanswered and create cliff hangers book by book. I loved it. I hated it. I can't wait for the next part.

Jessica Long is in Philadelphia when she thinks she sees her ex boyfriend. She follows him to the coffee shop only to find she is mistaken. It is not him. It is Dane. He is dressed in a designer suit, he is large, gorgeous and of so very masculine.

He tracks her down later that evening at a restarant and they share dinner. He is invited back to her room where he informs her the reason that she is having a hard time at the job fair is because she needs to give up control, she needs to relax. He is prepared to show her how giving up control to someone can be both stimulating and pleasurable. And oh, how very right he is. The sex between them is rocking hot. She lets go and allows him to take control. She loves it. She also sneaks out in the middle of the night and returns home.

Will she ever meet up with Dane again? Will she find herself a new job? At home? In Philadelphia? Oh my goodness so so many questions? We must read on to find the answers. The cliff hanger had my jaw dropping, but I can't give out any hints now, can I? That just would not be right!

Definately a 5/5.

Kittens and books, what's not to love!

February 4, 2014

This blogging set up is way more complicated that I had first thought. I guess it would almost be like an author writing and editing draft after draft before they arrive at the finished project. Since I am also an avid quilter I suppose it could be likened to a half finished quilting project- otherwise known as a WIP also known as a work in progress or UFO an un finished object. And have no fear I will keep plugging away. Maybe tomorrow I will post an actual review or two. I am really good at copy and paste. Thanks for listening
