From The Boots Up
Andi Marquette.
Meg Tallmadge is a twenty four year old girl working on her father's ranch helping him out. Diamond Rock Ranch is expecting a reporter to come and do a spotlight story on them and everyone is hoping for the publicity to help out the business. While in town one day she comes across a pretty girl trying to change a flat tire and helps out while finding herself attracted to her.
Amazingly enough when the reporter shows up the next day Meg is surprised to see it is the girl with the flat tire. Her name is Gina and she is from New York. Meg needs to fight her attraction while Gina is technically working for the ranch. There is too much at stake to risk. In the meantime she will spend the time she has making sure that Gina enjoys her stay at the ranch.
This story was just a short novella but it was really sweet. It was all about the build up. The getting to know another person and learning who they are. Becoming friends first before rushing into anything else. Spending time horse back riding together or hanging out on the ranch with all the guests. I thought the author did a great job considering the length. I really enjoyed how much attention was spent on all the secondary characters and loved reading about her father and the housekeeper Alice.
I would give this story a 3.5/5

This is a sexy contemporary romance novella of approximately 25,000 words.
Meet the Author:
Jenn Roseton believes that romance and happy endings go together. When she’s not writing, she indulges in delicious gourmet chocolate.
Although she’s spent time in Wyoming, unfortunately she didn’t meet a sexy cowboy of her own.
Excerpt:
“The bed’s comfortable.” A sexy grin rumpled the corners of his mouth. “I come here whenever I can get away from the city.”
Alone? Laura wanted to ask, but didn’t, in case she didn’t like the answer. A sudden thought occurred to her. What if … what if their definitions of marriage differed?
“Alex.” She licked suddenly dry lips, barely aware that he’d caught the small movement and turned all his attention on her. “When … when you said a real marriage …” she paused. This was so awkward. Why on earth hadn’t she thought of this before she’d married him?
“I meant a real marriage.” He pulled her towards him, until there was barely an inch of space separating their bodies.
Finding it hard to think, let alone breathe, Laura tried again. “Yes, but what about … other people?”
He scowled. “There won’t be any one else in our marriage, Laura,” he said firmly. “Just you and me.”
Relief flooded through her. “Okay,” she whispered, allowing herself to relax in his embrace.
The next instant, he tightened his arms around her. “I hope we’re clear on this point,” he growled.
“Very,” she managed to utter, before he kissed her.
His lips claimed hers, his tongue demanding immediate entry. Surrendering with a small sigh, Laura curled her arms around his neck as he deepened the kiss ...

Exerpt
I wake the next morning with a start. Memories of the night before come flooding back like a tidal wave. My day with Liam, The Eiffel Tower, the way he kissed me before we parted as if he was fearful he would never see me again. It's all so much to take in and yet I want it and so very much more.
I take my time getting ready for the day. With no real plans, I shower and dress in a pair of Kristina's yoga paints and a pale pink t-shirt. I make my way to the kitchen to grab a bite to eat and am surprised to find Kristina already awake. Her tall, lean frame pressed against the kitchen counter, a cup of coffee in her hands.
"Well good morning." She chimes, when she sees me enter.
"Don't good morning me." I snap out playfully. "Thanks to you I had to spend my entire Saturday with the man of my dreams." I smile widely at the last part.
She catches it immediately, a squeal coming for her lips as she sits her coffee mug on the counter and skips happily to where I am standing just three feet away. "I knew it, I knew it!" She sings, pulling me in for hug. "So you had fun then?" She asks, dropping her hold of me.
"Fun doesn't even begin to describe it." I say, the smile on my face growing wider.
"Oh no, you didn't?" She fakes mockery. "You slept with him? You did, didn't you?"
"If you mean had the most intense, passionate sex of my life on top of The Eiffel Tower, then yes, yes I did." I joke, watching her eyes widen with my confession.
"The Eiffel Tower? How in the hell did you manage that?" She gasps in complete jealousy.
"Not really sure. Someone Liam knows. They let us up after it was closed. Oh Kristina, it was like a fairy tale." I say dreamily, for a moment losing myself to the memory.
"Let's go grab some breakfast. We have no food and I want to hear every dirty detail." She laughs, dumping her coffee into the sink and grabbing her purse. I follow, slipping on my tennis shoes before we exit.
I spend the rest of the morning tucked away in a little family diner called Mimi's Cafe filling Kristina in on everything that took place yesterday. She was so excited for me she could barely contain herself and I have to admit it felt really good to have a girlfriend to share these kinds of things with.
By the time we exit, it's late morning. The sun is scorching and I immediately wish I had gone with shorts instead of pants. Kristina and I say our goodbyes as she has plans to go shopping with her mom and I make my way back to our apartment, determined to spend the day lounging in front of the television.
As I make my way back, my phone signals an incoming call. I scramble to remove it from my purse. An unknown number displays across the screen and I immediately answer it in hopes that maybe it's Liam.
"Addison, it's Grayson. Don't hang up." Is what I hear instead. I breathe out a sigh of aggravation but for some unknown reason, I don't end the call.
"What do you want?" I snap, not trying to make friendly talk at all.
"Look, I know that you are really angry with me. I feel awful about everything. Can we meet up somewhere for coffee or something? I really need to see you." His voice is soft and pleading, something far from the normal Grayson that I am used to.
"I'm sorry Grayson, I really don't think that's such a great idea." I answer immediately.
"Please Addie, just one cup of coffee." He pleads.
"I can't today, maybe another time." I do my best to pacify him.
"Monday? Come on Addie. Please."
"Fine, Monday." I agree, really just wanting to end this conversation. I don't care what he wants, I just want him to leave me the hell alone.
"Great, I will meet you in the lobby at noon." His voice takes on a more chipper approach. "I can't wait to see you." He adds in a more serious tone.
"See you then." I say indifferently before ending the call.
Leave it to Grayson to put a damper on my perfectly peaceful morning. Not really feeling up to going home all of a sudden, I continue walking with no real destination just simply losing myself in my mind.
It is hard to keep up with how quickly everything has changed but I don't regret a single moment of it. When Grayson ended things, I thought my world had ended. Now, I see it really is only just beginning. I have Liam to thank for that. Not to mention, some pretty awesome friends.
My phone starts ringing again just as I reach the bike trails where I used to spend almost everyday running. I make my way to a bench off to the side and retrieve my phone from my purse just as the ringing stops.
The missed call message shows it was my mom. Realizing it has been over a week since we last spoke, I click the number to call her back. She answers on the first ring. "I was beginning to think you had disowned us." She lashes at me, not harshly but enough to get her point across.
"I know mom, I'm sorry. Things have been so busy. How are you? How's dad?" I ask.
"Everything is good. Dad is spending a lot of time in the garage again. He bought himself a new toy to fix up. It's the biggest piece of junk yet." She whines, clearly not understanding my dad's constant need to buy old cars and rebuild them, something he has done since I was young. I used to love sitting out in the garage with him, handing him tools and listening to old Johnny Cash songs. Those are some of my fondest childhood memories and the thought of him back at it again makes me wish that I could be there with him.
"Cut him some slack mom. You know how much he loves it." I remind her. "How is everything else, anything new?"
"Well that's actually why I am calling. Aunt Kelly is coming in next week and was really hoping to get the chance to see you. You really do need to visit. We miss you like crazy dear and with Grayson out of the picture, there should be no reason not to."
"I wish I could mom but I have work. I am extremely busy with a big charity event that's in a couple of weeks. It's really not possible for me to take time off right now." I say, apologetic.
"Kelly is going to be so disappointed." She lays the guilt trip on me.
"I know mom. Will it make you feel better if I promise to come visit you the weekend after the event? I can fly out on Saturday morning and stay a couple of days."
"That would be amazing honey. Your dad will be thrilled." She says, the excitement clear in her voice. I really do need to get out to visit them and it probably isn't a bad idea to get away for a few days.
I promise to let her know as soon as my flight arrangements are made and by the end of our conversation she is perfectly happy. I make an excuse about needing to get some housework done and quickly wrap up the phone call.
After hanging up, I stare down at my phone for a few seconds, lost in my own mind. I don't know if I should be worried or relieved that Liam has not tried to contact me yet today. Regardless, I can't help but feel more than a little disappointed. I mean it was after all, the best night of my life.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Liam's voice breaks me from my haze. I look up, sure that him standing there, a wide smile across his face, is a figment of my imagination. "Care to join me? It's a beautiful day for a walk." He says, holding his hand out to me.
I take it without hesitation and let him pull me to my feet. I twine my fingers with his, loving the feeling of his skin against mine. I want to question him on how he found me, how he always seem to know where I am. But in this moment, I don't care. I just want to enjoy being here with him. As great as this all seems, I still have the nagging feeling that I better enjoy this while I can because it's only a matter of time before it all comes crashing down. Nothing this good ever turns out to be true.

Coming Up Soon from one of my new favourite authors. Check it out. She writes a good story. The pages flow nicely into one onother, there is lots of hot and funky sex and the characters are believable and most importantly -they are loveable!!
But first Check out the first story Break Me.
And then, the second one All In
Blurb:
Jay Markham, a wildly popular actor and a chronic womanizer, has become bored with his life. Jay decides to take a break and goes to visit his life-long best friend and famous romance novelist, Anthony Tate. But just because Jay decides to take a break doesn’t mean his fans will let him. The fans and the paparazzi follow him to the small Washington town and, in an effort to escape a particularly dogged fan, Jay ducks into the first open door he can find.
Parker Hardisson is a fairly normal, if self-contained, woman in her, ahem, early thirties. Relatively happy with her life as a freelance translator, she gets to work out of her own home and enjoy her life as quiet and drama-free as possible. So what if she’s a teensy bit lonely? So what if there’s some part of her that wants to explore the world? Things are working out just fine. So, when a mega-movie star comes slamming into her house, she wonders if she’s finally cracked.
Parker seizes the opportunity to make the deal of a lifetime. No strings, no questions. The problem is, Jay is playing this game by his own rules.
Review
Jay Markham was a popular and hot actor. So much so that he was followed constantly by the paparazzi, his fans and of course his crazy stalker. Jay lucks out as he walks down a street full of businesses and quickly ducks into a quaint house. Unbeknowst to him this is not a business but the home of Parker Hardisson.
She is a quiet sole, she prefers her own company and only ventures out for the necessities, Oreo cookies and frozen spagetti. Her job can be done from home and she likes her life. She also recognizes Jay despite his disguise of blue jeans, flannel shirt and ball cap. She knows that he is the best friend of her friend Abby's husband Jay.
He pleads with her to let him hide out for a bit. She agrees. "I'll let you stay as long as you need if you agree to let me have complete control of you until you leave."
Whoa, our quiet Parker seems to have a kinky side.
"Control" he asks.
"Sex. I want you to let me do whatever I want with you."
He agrees.
Now unfortunately or fortunately depending how you look at things Jay is not one to let a woman take control. Sure he pretends for a bit but then he demands control. He gives her exactly what she needs. Lots and lots of sex. On the floor in the living room, against the door, in the bed, in the shower and even the kitchen counter. They are so hot for one another and the sex is off the charts yummy.
But, alas, real life must seep in eventually. He is, don't forget the hottest actor around with a demanding job, she is almost a recluse, they live far away from one another and oh yeah, almost forgot THE STALKER.
Jay has decided that he wants some strings on this relationship, he is falling hard, but Parker does not believe he is sincere. Time will tell.
I think the author did a great job with this story. I really appreciated the way there was a short recap involving the characters from the first story. It was great to refresh my memory. I liked how we were always guessing whether or not they could actually have a future together and how it would even be possible. There are a few twists and turns that will surprise and some heavy protectiveness from Abby's brothers that come into play. Lots of testosterone on display for sure. I think that this story moved well and it was very easy to read. I enjoyed reading more about Abby's family from the first story and hope there will be more stories to come. 5/5 for sure!

Hot and Bothered
Juliet (Jules) Kilroy has a best friend in Taddea (Tad) Deluca. He has been her rock for years. He was there was she came home pregnant, was her birthing couch when she delivered her baby Evan and has held her hand and wiped her tears through all her struggles as a single mom during that hard first year.
Now she is ready to move on, she wants some romance in her life and so she signs up for on-line dating. Huh, for some reason that just irks Tad the wrong way. Provokes protective feelings he did not know he had.
During a conversation as she tries to explain her wants and desires.
" I just know I'd like to have some fun while I'm still young."
"What about me?" he replies.
And so the romance truly begins. He vows to be there for her as long as she need. To satisfy her desires. They have sex three times that first night. They fit together so very well. But then of course, real life comes crashing in and feeling get involved. Feelings that they are not ready to face. Futures that their fun romp was not supposed to involve. And then the Simon, the baby's father makes a surprise visit.
This story was very well done. I have read all the stories in this series and I have enjoyed them all. They flow nicely and have a great story line. It is also good to see the charcaters from the first story come back. It feels like we are truly part of the story. I thought the sex scenes were very hot, these two certainly had alot of chemistry between them. Their love is so easy for everyone else to see but one another. I am hoping for a happy ending but alas, I am not going to provide any more details. Read the story, read the series. 5/5!

Maya and Jay are a young married couple with a seven year old son Calder. Jay works alot of hours in order to provide what he thinks are the necessities in life to his family. Maya wishes that he would spend more time with them that at the office. On the fatal weekend of the tragedy Jay was rushing from work to surprise Maya and Calder at a weekend away skiing.
Unfortunately he ends up driving over a cliff and into the water, leaving Maya and Calder to face life with out him. Just like his mother had when his father had died in a drowning accident at a young age as well.
This is the story of what happens to Jay on the other side. This is how his love survives and tries to help those that he has left behind. It is also the story of the struggles that Maya and Calder go through as they try to go on without the figure head of the family.
It was not what I was expecting but it was beautiful. There was talk about different auras around those left behind as their moods changed, as they went throught the grieving process. It was beautifully done. I really felt for Maya as she tried to move on romantically and had to deal with her guilt for being attracted to Marcus. Calder’s character is heartbreaking as he tries to deal with his loss, we watch as he becomes angry and sullen and acts out against him mother.
Jay tries to reach out to Calder and connects to him through his dreams and connects with Maya through her art and in the form of crows.
The visits to the psychic provided another excuse to get the kleenex out as Maya and Jay struggle to connect to one another.
This story was so powerful because it was so raw and truthful. It could happen to anyone at anytime, whether it be from an accident as such or even an illness. We really don’t know what goes on after death, but wouldn’t it be beautiful if the way this author portrays an after life is really the way that things could be. It really makes the reader sit back and truly be thankful for everything that they have in their life. I loved the part where Jay was questioning why he was allowed to be in Calder's life for such a short time, whether he was important in the long scheme of things, and the answer he was given " because Calder picked YOU to be his father." This writer reminds me of Nicholas Spark. I would rate this story a 5/5.

The cover of this book made me take a second look, the blurb spiked my curiosity and away I went.
Sometime you get a book that just makes you sit back and say, Huh, I really enjoyed that. This is one of those books. It is just all about fate.
Lauren Jeffries has gotten her promotion. She is set to enjoy her new life, even if it is a few hours away from long time boyfriend Eric, they have done long distance before. They will be fine.
She quickly finds a place to live and her new friend and roommate is home designer Blake. A frequent visitor to their house is her brother Matthew. The three of them become fast and true friends as they find that they share past personal events, it bonds them closer together.
Eric and Lauren try to make time for each other, but the distance just seems to point out the differences that have always been there. Eric sends her roses, and inpersonal cards when Lauren wants more, she wants declarations of love.
Matthew is sweeet, and kind and loving, but oh so very off the table, he is unobtainable, but he comforts her when Eric hurts her with his supposed indifference. But Eric has been around for years, she just needs to work harder on things.
Poor Lauren is so very confused. What does she want? who does she want? Watch out for a cliffhanger of an ending here. I had to rush right out and get the next story so all my questions would be answered.
Will Eric step up to the plate and prove that he is the man for her? Will Matthew ever make a move? Or is he too much of a gentleman to step in on another man’s girl?
I thought that the author did a great job on this story. I felt all of Lauren’s pain as Eric proved over and over again to be a dink and left Matthew holding the pieces. Helping Lauren as only a best friend could. It was not wonder that she thinks she feels something for him. I am hoping for a happy ending here. I am just not sure with what guy. Do I want her to try for Matthew or do I want Eric to step up and be the man she deserves? Dilemna, dilemna, 5/5 for sure. The suspense was amazing. The feelings were great and the friendship between the girls was very well done. I also loved the character of Lauren’s father.
This is a definate tear jerking, page turning emotional journey.
Dexter Michael is a twenty four year old student from the States that is starting fresh, studying in London. He has a one night only rule for the ladies, as this will stop them from getting to know him too well, from asking questions that he does not want to answer.
Emily Barton is nineteen, and it is her time to shine. She has left the nest of her parents and has moved in with her best friend parapalegic Rachel. Rachel has a list of "firsts" that she is going to get Emily to do.
These two are totally different characters. She is shy and has barely experienced what life has to offer her. He is a recovering alcoholic who has a horrible past he is running from.
Opposites attract. He brings her to life and she helps him deal with his. He fights her constantly, but she perserveres and shows him her love constantly. She is trying to prove to him that he is worth loving. She is knocking away at his resistance trying to learn all that he has to hide. She wants to be a part of his life, she wants to be the biggest part of his life. She makes him forget his one night only rule and want a future.
Emily also has her own past that she needs to let come to the surface and finally deal with so that she can be free. Will he be able to help her? Will she be strong enough for both of them?
This was definately a very powerful love story. For such a young couple they face all the odds and fight to be together. The maturity in knowing what Dexter needs and how she searching in herself to be that person for him was awe inspiring. She showed true inner strength.
I thought this story was very well done. When all is laid on the table and we think that everything has been dealt with and sorted out, BOOOM! cliffhanger! Going to have to get book two for sure. 5/5 rating from me.

This was the first time reading this author for me, I mst admit the cover caught my eye. I pick alot of my reads by the cover art. I think these artists deserve alot of credit. They do amazing work.
This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review. I glanced through the reviews that it had gotten before reading and I was stumped, they were all over the place. It had a catchy blurb, sounded like fun, so I decided to give it a go.
WOW, I was certainly glad that I did, this story rocked.
Abigail Stephens is the editor for Anthony Tate, she has been his boss and has secretly loved him for four years. She has made him into the superstar household name that he is today. She is a tough editor and a fantastic publicity organizer.
Anthony Tate has been dating Joyce Page a 22 year old off and on for a while when she dumps him again. Abby is his best friend, his confidente and after he sees a newspaper picture of Joyce with a new guy he turns to Abby for comfort. Only this time it gets sexual. Abby is unable to deny him anything, she thinks it is her job to fulfill all of Tony's needs, and she justifies it by saying this is just another need.
"I need this right now" he says.
Surprise, surprise they have the best sex of his life, his little Abby likes things a little rough and they have sex on the couch, the bed and in the shower. But the next day.
"We're not going to talk about this Abby because it is never going to happen again."
Abby and Tony make love constantly, but never talk about it or admit to any emotions. He takes her how he wants, when he wants and where he wants. Abby is totally in love and having the time of her life, until she realizes that he is not sharing with her, that he is just using her, then she is devastated.
I was totally captivated by this story. I thought that it had tremendous depthy to it. Abby was so believable . " I am giving you what you need, because I can't give you what you want. " I loved how there was an element of roughness and a bit of edge to the love scenes. They were certainly steamy.
I appreciated the battle both of them had to come to grips on how they feel and what was ultimately important to them. Joyce the ex-girlfriend shows up and adds a little bit of angst to the story line as well. I loved Abby, she went after what she wanted but then backed away when the depth of feeling was missing. I am unable to provide any more spoilers, I recommend you reading the book yourself to discover the ending. I would rate this book 5/5 and will read more by this author.

Though the need to be Stom's mate is overwhelming her, mending his heart isn't going to be enough. His enemies are searching, looking for the women who are more than they seem, but she's in their hands before she discovers she's more-than-human.
Sometimes it sucks to be a chosen one.

Zoey's mother neglected her horribly as a child, never showing her any love, attention or for the most part nevery having any food in the house. She spent the next few years in foster care before being adopted. A young marriage also ends badly and her ex-husband Rob tries to take the business that she and her adoptive father have started. She vows never to marry again and also to never ever ever get involved with anyone that works at the garage.
Then a new mechanic comes to town. Andy. He is staying in the apartment above the business and it is up to her to get it ready and make him feel welcome. They spend some time together shopping for groceries and other necessities for his new apartment. Andy saves her from a nasty encounter with the ex-husband Rob at the store. Rob is evil and has a nasty mouth on him. Andy is there for her when a brick comes sailing through the front window, he holds her hand and comforts her. He becomes her friend. She has never had a male friend before.
She finds herself falling for him but she fights it. She is hurting and Andy is hurting too. They both have feelings for each other. Her family tells her to take a chance, but she just can't. She has so many emotions in her that are scaring her from being with him. She owns her family so much and her stupid actions once almost cost them the business. She just can't take that chance again.
The author did a great job with this story. Zoey has so much love to give but she is living with so much guilt. For things that simply were out of her control. Yes her ex-husband was a horrible person but it was not her fault. She needs to let go of her guilt and move on with her life, open herself up to living and loving again. Andy is there for her, he has feeling for her and he would be perfect for her. I loved how the author made her so vulnerable yet underneath we can see is strong. I am hoping for a happy ever after for the two of them. This is the first in a series and I am eagerly awaiting the next one. I would rate this story a 4/5.

Reflection
Professor Bridget Ross is jogging with her dog Daisy when Daisy becomes enthralled with another dog. Lotus, a Rodesian Ridgeback is entangled with Daisy and this caused Bridget to fall helplessly to the ground as Daisy's leash is around her waist. She always needs the security of having her hands free. She won't let Connor touch her when he offers aid. She is actually rude to him " don't touch me." Her demons run deep.
She sees him again and apologizes and offers to buy him coffee. Theirs is a slow moving relationship. He is a beautiful artist that is working as a janitor as he has his own demons that won't allow him to pursue his art as a career.
Together they try to form a relationship. She lets him closer than she has anyone else. He makes her feel things and allows her to try to come to grips with her past. He has dominant tendancies and urges and she has always had fantasies about being dominated, but she fights them at every turn and thinks it makes her a dirty girl. No body should like to be held down and spanked. She needs Connor in her life to show her that what she is feeling is okay and that she is normal.
Connor however, also needs her help so that he can put his own insecurities behind him and realize that the life that he is meant to live is also normal and totally allowable.
I thought that the chemistry between the two of them was sparking, I loved the fact that Connor was a bit younger that Bridget, it makes them seem so much more vulnerable. I also like that Bridget was dealing with issues at the school involving herself and her student Skylar. I didn't like how she kept it from Connor, but I appreciated that it was part of her character, it made her much deeper to me. I mean really because of her past trauma it only makes sense that she trust him in baby steps.
I thoroughly enjoyed all parts of this story from the sappy love story to the hot steamy love scenes. The plot line was well done and did not totally take place in the bedroom. I thought both the story line and the secondary characters were very well fleshed out. It was an easy read. I would rate it 5/5.
A funky cover made me want to read this story and I am glad that I did. Let me know what you think.
This was the first story that I have read by this author. I love discovering "new to me" authors and this book had a funky cover. I was intrigued.
Lena has been dragged to the local sports bar by her best friend and roommate Jeremiah. He was talking with his friends and she was sitting at the bar alone when she was approached by a new guy.
A harmless flirtation follows, she names him Rusty because of his rusty pick up lines and he calls her Loner. She agrees to share a cab ride home with him and experiences an earth shattering kiss.
Without getting her name it is only by chance that he runs into her at the school she is teaching at. He is there because of his nephew Charlie who he has custody of because his parents had died.
Lena and Eric finally found out each others name. Eric is a Dom and he is introducing Lena to his world. She has some demons in her past as she was raised in foster care and she is hesitant but eager to experience this.
There are, of course a few bumps in the road, Lena has some issues that she needs to deal with once and for all in order for her to truly be able to live her life. Eric's parents provide humour and angst as Mom does not approve of his lifestyle now that he has Charlie. Poor Charlie has not said a word since he parents died.
Throw in some padded wrist cuffs, an mild introduction to menage with bartender and best friend Cade, some funky usage of clothes pin and we have a winner or a story.
It was face paced and flowed easily. I really enjoyed that this was about more that just the sex. Her childhood issues were handled beautifully. His parents and Charlie played a big part of the story and it was fun to watch that relationship as it unfolded. We are left knowing that there may be much more in store for these two lovers as they journey towards their HEA. I would rate this story a 5/5.
This is the second story in the Montana Promises series. It is a stand alone story but I always prefer to read series from the beginning to get a feel for all the characters and a history.
Dectective Thad Dalton finds himself at the hospital one evening dealing with a domestic abuse call involving his ex-wife Peggy. Dr Zoey Donovan becomes involved in the drama, She is grabbed, held as hostage, Thad gets shot in rescueing her and Zoey is scared and shaken.
Later that night at home she is comforted by builder Pete Banks as he is finishing the renovations on her house. After learning about her day he realizes that she is talking about his roomate Thad. He is shaken and worried. After some more talking she asks him the important question.
"Are you and Chad a couple?"
"Couple?.......... No, We like to share our women."
The three of them soon embark on a passion filled relationship. They share everything, they talk about their past and she is introduced to Thad's family during an anniversary dinner. Soon their passion in turning into something more. Real feelings. There is a death at the hospital and an attempted break in at her house. There is lots of drama going on.
I really enjoyed this book. I found that the story effortlessy flowed together. I was eagerly turning the pages to find out what was going on with these three. The sex scenes very exciting, and very realistic, you could easily tell that the characters had feelings for one another. The drama at the hospital added intrugue and suspense, the reader is guesses as to who is telling the truth and what the outcome will be. I thought that having Pete have to deal with some issues was also well done as it added some extra humanity to the story and made things so much more believeble than just a quick HEA. I would absolutely give this story a 5/5.
This book was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review. This is part one of the new series by Joey W. Hill. I have loved her books for a while and was intrigued by this flirty cover.
Madison has had multiple fantasies of loosing control, about being dominated and experiencing the thud of a flogger. When her sister Alice dies and leaves her a lingerie shop she is eager for a new start. She quickly jumps right in to the retail business. It does not take her long to realize that in order to make a go of things she must connect with her customers on a level that they understand and appreciate. She must know her products. In order for this to happen she needs to look deep inside herself and admit her inner most wants and needs.
Logan is the owner and the hardware store next door. He is also the Training Master at the Local Dungeon. He conducts training lessons on Troy who is also working with him. Before she died Alice told Logan that she was giving him her sister Madison, that she was the one for him. Needless to say he is intrigued.
This portion of the story is reall just a teaser, it introduces us to the three main characters and lays the ground work for what is possible. It establishes that there is an attraction between Madison and Logan and then lets our imagination run wild. Logan is now starring in Madison's fantasies. I loved it. It was a great beginning. It accomplished what it set out to do. Hook up and reel us in, leave us hanging and waiting until the next part. Well done. 5.5.
